Glenda
Glenda started in Tallaght Sports Complex part time in 1996 as aerobics & gym instructor & lifeguard. Then moving to a full time, she became a qualified swim teacher & lifeguard.
She was promoted duty manager in 2000 & then the complex manager.
With a TUD 1st class honours in marketing & management, and a diploma in leisure management
and ITEC & NCEF Fitness Instructor, Gym Instructor, and personal Instructor qualifications. She knows her stuff when it comes to supporting community fitness goals.
She is also a swim Ireland Full Swim Teacher and a Water Safety Ireland Pool lifeguard with an ILAM pool plant operator.
Outside Tallaght sport complex. Glenda plays Gaelic for mothers & others at St Anne’s GAA. She also swims & plays Darts for Dublin.
Glenda Murphy Smullen is the Complex Manager at Tallaght Sports Complex and a familiar, much-loved face within the local Tallaght community. With a genuine passion for bringing people together and making sport, fitness and wellbeing accessible to everyone, Glenda plays a central role in creating the friendly, community-focused atmosphere the Complex is known for. Her contribution to the local area was recognised when she was named Tallaght Person of the Year 2024/2025, reflecting her commitment to supporting local people, families and community initiatives.
